About The Mods

Mod Rose

Co-Head/ Art/ Graphics/ Social Media

Mod Rose does everything. You know in animes when the loud guy asks his secretary for random stuff, or assigns her a ton of impossible things and they're impossibly done, perfectly, random ingredient procured out of nowhere? That's Mod Rose. She may seem quiet, but she will be your biggest fan and the most supportive person you'll ever have the luck to meet.

Mod Val

Co-Head/ Writing/ Organization

Mod Val has an eye for detail. Whether its in writing, or art, or remembering that one obscure thing you TOTALLY didn't mean to say on main but will now haunt you forever and bring a smile to your face. She's the go to person with all the answers. What channel for this? Whats the format for this? Need to know if something looks or sounds okay. She's the one. Careful though, she can talk you straight into a wonderful plotline or an OMG I HAVE TO DRAW THAT art. Inspirational, honest, and will be the one to help you get your shit together.

Mod Kirei

Finance/ Merch/ Shipping

Mod Kirei is more than a little nuts, but you can always rely upon Kirei to be professional. If there's something that needs to be done, she will get it done, every time, without fail. You couldn't ask for anyone better and be slightly unhinged while doing it. Friends describe Kirei as their best bitch. She's also the type to be there with a box of cookies and an ear of understanding when the need arises. When she's not invested in one of her seventy projects, she's spending her time writing, eating sticky notes, or looking for another way to help somewhere. But be warned, if you add "egg" to the equation, all bets are off. She'll go feral.

Mod Ray

Format/ General

Does Ray sleep? We have yet to see proof.
This disaster bi is always the one that’s lending a hand and constantly creating. She will be brutally honest, but because she knows it will lead to growth. She has the brain of an engineer and is an all around talent.

Q. What is a zine?
A fanzine, zine for short, is a term combined from the words fan and magazine. It is a booklet made for fans by fans. It is a non-official publication either in the form of PDF or physical book, often containing a mix of artworks and written works for a specific series, fan group or event.

Q. What kind of zine is "Red String Zine"?
Red String is an 18+ BNHA zine for Soulmate AU's of all kinds! Based on the interest check, it will be a physical SFW zine with a digital NSFW add-on, and merchandise expectations are pins, stickers, prints, and washi tape or charms, as well as some digital merch, all depending on our merch artists.

Q. Is this a for profit zine?
Per the interest check, Red String will be half for profit and half for charity. We will be announcing which charity at a later date.

Q. What kind of contributors are you looking for?
Fics and art won an equal amount of content in our Interest check. Current expectation for the SFW, physical zine is to have five writers, twenty page artists, two cover artists (one physical and one digital) and four merch artists. The digital add-on, if applications allow, will have another four to five writers, and ten artists.

Q. Will you have guests?
We're set to have two guest writers and two guest artists along with one guest cover artist.

Q. How will contributors be selected?
We will open applications January 25th.

Q: What will the cost for this zine be?
We will have an answer to this question closer to production.

Contributor Applications

Writers

  • Writer samples should be no LESS than 1500 words, and at least two samples must be provided.

  • Excerpts are allowed, and you may provide a third sample.

  • Total wordcount of all samples together MUST be under 8k words.

  • BNHA characters are required in at least one example, preferred in two.

  • Samples can be sfw or nsfw with content warning provided below.

  • We are looking for word flow, correct grammar and word use, characterization, and the ability to tell a complete story in a short form.

  • Please be aware that upon acceptance to the zine, you will be asked to provide identification or proof of age.
